This session will discuss the importance of employment in the NDIS and what we can all do to help more NDIS participants who want to work, get a job.
We will look at some recent NDIS research in employment that will inform better planning and supports for participants, what we are doing to activate the NDIS employment support providers and how we can work with DES to ensure participants have the best chance to achieve their goals.
Presenters
Jo is a Senior Executive with the National Disability Insurance Agency. She has been with the NDIA since 2014 and has over 25 years’ experience in the private and public sector with expertise in disability, injury management, employment and vocational rehabilitation. With qualifications Social Science, Rehabilitation Counselling and Public Sector Management Jo is an experienced leader and has been involved in designing, leading and implementing government policy largely focused on supporting people with injuries, disability and complex social barriers. Now leading the Market Innovation and Employment Branch within the NDIA, Jo has responsibility for delivering on the Participant Employment Strategy and is committed to supporting people with disability in their employment journey.
